Well...I'm not losing weight...what I am losing though is my willpower!
I felt like I needed a refresher course in motivation so I thought I'd do it through my blog :)
I've still got plenty of motivation where exercising is concerned. It's become a habit and I miss it when I don't get in several 15-minute sessions every day.
Over the summer, my willpower has weakened when it comes to unhealthy food choices. LOL...even chocolate has taken a backseat to these cravings!
THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:
This week I am challenging you to make me see that I am not such a bad person, lol, that everyone gets these summertime cravings that they just can't say no to.
1. What have your top 3 guilty pleasures been this summer?
2. Are you confident that they were just a seasonal issue and will soon be easily put aside?
My 3 guilty pleasures:
1. Butter tarts from the farmers market.
2. Klondike Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Bar. Shame on you No Frills for having them on sale all summer long...you know I can't pass up a bargain!!
3. International Delight Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee Beverage.
I am pretty confident (now that I've boosted my motivation with all these posters today), that once Labour Day weekend is over, signalling the end of the summer season, I will be able to put aside my cravings and get back to a healthier menu.
One outcome that I can't be too upset with...even though I added some bad (but fun) choices to my diet over the summer, I haven't gained any weight :)
NEXT WEEK'S BLOG: Monthly check-in
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DISCLAIMER: Whenever I use the word DIET in my blog posts I am in no way suggesting that I have invented/discovered some miracle system to lose weight. Whenever I use the word DIET, I am simply substituting a single word to replace the longer phrase EATING HEALTHIER THAN IN THE PAST.
Losing It has been on my mind this past month I just have not been motivated. At first it was depression after Anna moved back to California. Now it's just being lazy. Yesterday I was talking to Bill and told him I need to change things. Winter I'm going to start TurboFire again....but not really I'm going to start Sept 1st and work my butt off all through Winter.
ReplyDelete3 Guilty Pleasures -
#1 Not thinking one bit what I was putting in my mouth
#2 The BIG Reeses Peanut Butter Cups - I didn't eat a lot of them just didn't work with the other choices I was making
#3 More butter on my English Muffins than I should have been. But oh does that taste good in those nooks and crannys
I will be much better with your challenges next month.
I definitely know where you're coming from with the butter Pam. I've cut down over the past year and a half and I'm telling you, it's still sooo tempting to take another dip with my knife to add another coat of butter on whatever I'm eating.
DeleteYou know what...not a big butter fan...I'd rather eat cheezwhiz, jam or peanut butter on all breads or pastries. Thank god I don't have that going against me too lol
DeleteLOL...I eat cheez whiz or peanut butter on crackers now...not as tasty as bread/toast but less calories :)
DeleteGuilty Pleasures for me are:
ReplyDelete1-A&W ( anything there)
2-Ice Cream
3-anything salty ( and this is why my BP was up to 179/100 the other day... Haven't checked it at the drugstore like I was supposed to either...
And Cheryl we all go through this kind of situation where we work so hard for weight loss and suddenly we go on a "bender" so to speak... just like an alcoholic, one drink and they are off and running to the nearest bar... so do we with foods we love... Here is a website I go to for motivation sometimes.. they have recipes too.... it is based on Weight Watchers but works for anyone.... http://www.dwlz.com/
Luckily we don't eat out too often...but when we do, I tend to overdo it, lol, making sure the euphoria lasts until the next time!
DeleteThanks for the website Weezie...I'll check it out and let you know what I think :)
1. What have your top 3 guilty pleasures been this summer?
ReplyDeleteA. COKE!
B. Doritos - I can literally eat a whole bag
Can't really think of a third thing this summer. Mostly its just pop. I actually didn't have that much chocolate, candy or fast food as usual. Still had lots just not as much haha. AND since its summer I've been eating a lot of fresh fruit lately because its all on such good sales :)
2. Are you confident that they were just a seasonal issue and will soon be easily put aside?
To be honest...no. I am SOOO bad when it comes to what I eat. You items are seasonal though, so I have faith in you.
UGH weigh in next month, not happy with my results so far lmao. P.s love the HK tape measure.
Luckily pop is one thing I don't have trouble staying away from. Usually only drink it at a fast food place because it comes with the combo.
DeleteAny new flavours of Doritos out this summer?
LOL...I saw that tape measure and just had to use it :)
