It's time for our monthly check-in. But before we get to that, I'd like to talk about diet demons. We all have them, don't we? LOL...surely I'm not all alone in this battle!
I actually have two demons that I am battling right now. My two biggest hurdles with healthy eating is my chocoholicism and my enjoyment of celebrating holidays & special occasions. And wouldn't you know it, this weekend is a double whammy, a holiday celebrated with chocolate.
I work hard at counting calories, eating healthily and exercising on all the "everydays" of my life. But when it comes to holidays, birthdays & anniversaries I don't deprive myself of any of our traditions, especially the menus. If I didn't have the food & drinks that I associate with those times, it just wouldn't be special to me any longer.
We are celebrating Easter early this year, just like we did with Christmas, because Desiree is working on the holiday itself. So we've already had our Easter dinner & Easter baskets yesterday. Desiree arrived Thursday and we had Toppers Pizza for supper when she got here. LOL...and I still have several days of over-indulgence ahead because Jesse will be here until Tuesday. Thank goodness we have another month until the next check-in...plenty of time to work off the extra calories :)

I confess I didn't do a darn thing this month one way or the other. My diet demon this past month has been sweets. I really need to get rid of all the sweets except for my Dove chocolate squares. I don't need all the other "stuff".

DeleteAnother check in already, gosh these months are going by quickly! My diet demons are sweets and fast food. I have a costco sized container of sour keys next to my computer and eat a couple every day...and of course my fast food addiction which never ends
ReplyDeleteCandies are one thing I don't have a problem going without, as long as I can have chocolates. It's been ages since I've had cookies too.

ReplyDeleteLOL...you are right! I got the days mixed up this morning...Dad usually works on Fridays and goes out fishing on Saturdays...so when you guys headed out to the lake, I thought it was time to post my blog :)
DeleteNothing to report here either.... other than NO GAIN this month.. My diet demon is more my moods... I have a why me attitude... how come I am the only one in my family who has diabetes?. why am the only one in my family covered in scales? Life isn't fair... and so on and so forth. I need to figure how to get past this feeling of negativity and I might be able to start to lose. I even blame my mom because she always had me on a diet right from the time I was 3 years old.. Anyway, I am gonna try harder in the coming months to over come this hurdle. Maybe hypnosis... clean my mind and start fresh... not gonna happen but it is a good thought. lol
ReplyDeleteYou can change that frown into a smile by being the only one in the family to lose weight and to do it despite all the hurdles you face. Even if it's just a few lbs., it's still a victory for you Weezie, and we'll be cheering you on :)
