To lose 1 pound a week, we need to somehow cut out 3,500 calories over a 7 day period.
You can choose to cut out 500 calories a day from your diet for 7 days...
OR
...split the difference with burning 250 calories a day with exercise and eating 250 calories less each day.
The choice is yours!
This year I am still counting calories and exercising...but I am being a bit more lenient with myself. I've started eating more calories (my dietitian would be happy to hear that) and I don't feel guilty if I don't get in one hour of exercising every single day.
I was hoping that this would be a year of just maintaining what I had lost last year but as a result of my unexplainable scale jump back in Jan. I now have 20 lbs. to lose AGAIN.
MONTHLY CHECK-IN:
I am happy to report that I have lost 2 lbs. even after indulging in a box of Valentine's chocolates. No change in my measurements. How did you make out this month?

NEXT WEEK'S BLOG: Meal Planning
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DISCLAIMER: Whenever I use the word DIET in my blog posts I am in no way suggesting that I have invented/discovered some miracle system to lose weight. Whenever I use the word DIET, I am simply substituting a single word to replace the longer phrase EATING HEALTHIER THAN IN THE PAST.
I did not have a good week or two months for that matter and on talking to my pharmacist she said I will have major problem trying to lose weight due to all the insulin I am using.. I am ready to throw it all away and take my chances.... but on a better note.... the streets are starting to clear off so hopefully I can get out and do some slow walking.. just to limber up a bit... I'm hoping I will soon be able to walk properly but right now the minute I start to walk my hip starts to pain and I sure don't want to spend all THIS summer in bed with sciatica.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Weezie :)
DeletePart of my problem is bent elbow syndrome..... if I didn't have a bent elbow I couldn't feed myself... haha...
ReplyDeleteHmm I would have to say my #1 biggest problem is what I eat because of lack of time. 75% of the time my fridge and cupboards are borderline empty and I can never make a full meal. When that happens ill just munch on random things in the house or get take out. Also contributing to this is my work schedule. Since I do overnights I sleep during the day a lot and miss meals. I have no motivation to cook for myself to bring something healthy to work or balanced for that matter. Its probably just pure laziness. I just wish I had someone to cook my meals :(
ReplyDeleteNow you know how all the stars can lose weight so quickly...they have staff to cook healthy meals for them and to work out with them :)
