Typical me, I'm a year late starting this, lol. I should have started last Jan. when I started my journey. But hey, better late than never, right?
I'll be posting a weekly blog with what I hope will be humourous and informative anecdotes about losing weight...some will be things I learned along the way last year and others will be new experiences this year.
New Year's Resolution 2012: Last year I decided to get my butt in gear and get healthy before my doctor put me on meds for my unhealthy levels of blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. Well, that worked out beyond my wildest dreams! I lost 60 lbs. and went from a womans size 2X to a juniors size 7. BTW, my levels were all down within a healthy range at my 6 month checkup but it took much longer to get my BMI (body mass index) from obese to healthy :)
New Year's Resolution 2013: They say that "60 is the new 40". Well, I've got one year until I hit 60 so I want to arrive at that milestone looking and feeling like 40. This year I will continue doing what I did last year... eating smaller healthy portions (logging meals at MyFitnessPal.com) and exercising every day...with added emphasis on getting rid of my pet peeve...belly fat!
I've had many people ask me how I did it so on the off chance that I can inspire/motivate someone to start their own journey, I'll be posting small challenges each week. If you choose to participate in any of them, feel free to share your account of how things went. LOL...trust me, it will be so much easier to accomplish knowing you're not alone!
Next week's blog: The post-holiday confession booth and the dreaded first weigh-in of the year :)
